CSS have built up a strong working partnership with many of the industry regulated associations. CSS endorse and work within the framework of the ACPOS (Association of Chief Police Officers Scotland) alarms policy. The policy's aim is to reduce the amount of false activations from monitored electronic security systems.
False alarms are a waste of police resources and a waste of public money in the costs associated with the police service dispatching officers to attend problematic alarm systems when their time could be better spent in providing visible frontline public service.
Only security system providers such as CSS who are regulated and work within stringent codes of practice can gain URN (Unique Reference Numbers) from the police service. Unregulated/unregistered security system providers cannot obtain URN numbers.
Security companies who are not members of NSI or SSAIB cannot apply for police response to your premises. Insurance companies do not recognise unregulated security systems contractors therefore any discount structure on contents insurance would not be applicable should you choose an unregulated provider.
