C.S.S was established in 1986 by three brothers Jim, Pat and Paul Connelly. All three had spent some thirty-five years between them working within the security industry for well known national companies. They identified a gap in the market for a family owned company that was genuinely committed to customer service. C.S.S opened for business in the summer of 1986 from a small office in Bishopbriggs by Glasgow. The business grew steady at a steady controlled rate and achieved many land marked goals such as Investors in People, a Scottish first for a security systems company. They opened an alarm receiving centre at a time when many were closing down or being transferred to England.
The brothers were committed to providing a turn-key service to their customers and owning and operating an alarm-receiving centre was crucial in demonstrating their commitment to customers in Scotland.
C.S.S were the first security systems company in Scotland to be awarded the quality BS5750 further demonstrating a continual investment in customer care and quality products.
Over the years C.S.S has broadened its service to other companies by acquisition. These came along at a time when owners where retiring and had no natural succession. Many of the staff employed by C.S.S have been active in promoting the long-term years success of the business; some have been working with the company for over fifteen year's. The average length of service is nine years. In 2001, a satellite sales office was established in Edinburgh due to continuous organic growth in the east of the country.
The development has been very fruitful in demonstrating the long-term goals of the business in responding to the needs and demands of the customer base right across Scotland. By the end of 2002 C.S.S had outgrown three business premises occupied in Bishopbriggs and had a purpose built operating facility and new Alarm Receiving Centre built in Glasgow. This facility was completed in the summer of 2004. Over the past eighteen years many security companies have gone out of business or been brought over by national operators. The two remaining directors Pat & Paul Connelly’s business approach is the key to their success, which is to be committed to customer service, and remain accessible to both staff and customers alike. People buy from people and people like to buy goods and services from staff and directors at C.S.S who have now set their stall out for continuing to develop and commit to customers old and new over the next ten-year plan.
