Thanks for supporting Billy Against Dementia
Thank you to all of those that participated in the charity golf fundraiser in aid of ‘Billy Against Dementia’, held at Cameron House Hotel’s Carrick Golf Course at Loch Lomond on 3rd June.
The great and the good from the world of sport and entertainment, past and present, including Johan Mjällby and Frank McAvennie, came along to support this event by raising funds to help ex-football players and their families who have been directly affected by dementia.
The family of the late, great Billy McNeill came along to help raise awareness of this indiscriminating disease that can affect anyone at any stage in their life. Celtic’s ‘Cesar’ was one of thousands of people diagnosed with dementia every year. He died in April 2019 after living with dementia for around nine years – he was 79.
A collaboration of like-minded businesses and the charity Battle Against Dementia have been doing terrific work to help support those affected by dementia and their loved ones. The Golf Day was the inaugural event of this particular kind and it is hoped it will become a regular fixture in the years ahead.
A special thanks goes to the wider business community, their clients, friends and celebrities from across the UK who gave their time – and more so, their cash – to make the day such a special one. As an extra bonus we were blessed with wall to wall sunshine!
