How it works
The fire suppression sticker has a lifespan of 5 years to protect against fires. When a fire breaks out and the temperature reaches 380°C (within a few seconds) a chemical reaction takes place within the sticker which releases harmless inert gasses which quickly envelops the fire and extinguishes it within the space.
Applications
Any mains distribution box or electrical appliance is at risk of catching fire. These include fridges, freezers, washing machines, tumble dryers boat engine spaces, photovoltaic regulators and geothermal heat pumps.
Dust on fridge and freezer compressors and cooling coils impedes air circulation. If there is enough heat from compressors and cooling coils a fire can start easily if the dust ignites. Insulation material is also at risk of igniting.
In order for fire suppression stickers to work effectively they must be placed in exactly the right positions to ensure that any fire that does start activates the stickers as soon as possible so someone experienced in electrical fire safety should install the stickers.
