CSS help raise money for Cancer Research UK
CSS hosted a table at the Business Beats Cancer annual Fund Raising Dinner at the Central Hotel in Glasgow held on Thursday 28th of February.
The money raised on the night was circa £80k which is quite a staggering amount raised in just a few hours over the evening.
The hosts and guest speakers kept the audience entertained without dithering as to why we were there and did an excellent job in getting the dough out of the guests’ wallets and purses so to speak.
The event has proved to be so successful that the Committee Chair Joanne Casey informed the audience of over three hundred invited supporters, that the model for the annual “Business Beats Cancer” charity fundraiser was being rolled out across the UK in Edinburgh, Belfast, Birmingham, Manchester, London, and also in Guernsey in the Channel Islands throughout 2019.
Last year Cancer Research UK spent over £27m in Glasgow on some of the UK’s leading scientific and clinical research. Glasgow is home to the world class Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute in Bearsden.
