CSS and Isobel Mair School: Partners in Creating Brighter Futures for Newton Mearns
A team from Isobel Mair school and family centre braved the rain on 22 April 24 to launch their taking part in the Kiltwalk 2024 campaign.
The participants were part of the CSS sponsored Isobel Mair School and Family Centre team: Colette Kean with CSS staff Pauline Comerford, Kelsey Comerford and Marie Docherty.
From Wee Wander to Big Stroll: Isobel Mair School Team Goes the Extra Mile
Around 25 parents, staff and friends walked 23 miles in a day with others joining in for a 14-mile Big Stroll and a 3-mile Wee Wander.
The walkers had a £5,000 target to build an outdoor learning space at Isobel Mair School in Newton Mearns, attended by children with complex needs. They actually raised an incredible £10,243 and are extremely grateful to all those who donated so generously.
School Plans to Transform Outdoor Space
The school’s outdoor space is badly in need of rejuvenation. An improved outdoor space will serve as a hands-on learning environment, fostering the development of both gross and fine motor skills. In addition, the time spent outdoors in the garden will ensure that students benefit from fresh air and sunlight, essential elements for overall physical health and wellbeing.
