At CSS (Connelly Security Systems), community has always been at the heart of what we do.

For nearly 40 years, our family business has supported homes, businesses and organisations across Scotland with reliable fire and security systems. But being part of a community means more than providing a service. It’s about giving back, supporting people and helping our local communities improve and thrive in the activities that reflect their values and interests.

This season, we’re proud to strengthen our partnership with Glasgow City FC, Scotland’s most successful women’s football club and true trailblazers for women and girls in sport. CSS now supports both the first team and the Academy sides, which nurture over 150 girls from under 8s through NextGen levels (U13, U15, U17).

Sponsoring these teams reflects our commitment to this incredible local football team, and to youth development and providing opportunities for young people across north Glasgow and beyond.

In a statement, Paul Connelly said:

As a supporter of Glasgow City Women and Girls football clubs, CSS endorse the terrific strides that women’s and girls’ football has been making recently, not only in Scotland but across the UK and abroad. These games are a breath of fresh air, all so positive. What’s not to like? Better players, games, teamwork and better communities.

A Local Connection

Our Director Paul Connelly was there to cheer on the team at Sunday’s league game against Hearts. If you don’t want to see the score look away now.

We won 5-1!

He had a great afternoon with the girls (you can enjoy some of the photos below) and it was great to see the back of the team’s shirts emblazoned with the CSS logo again this season.

Paul enjoyed playing football with his friends when he was young. He’s a local boy from a working-class background who’s done well, growing a successful family business. Paul truly believes in giving back to the community and says that skills developed through sport can help you as you progress through life. His message to the local young people, to everyone, in fact, everywhere, is that ‘anything’s possible if you believe in yourself… and believe in your team’.

Why Glasgow City FC?

Glasgow City FC was founded in 1998, and the club competes at the highest level in the Scottish Women’s Premier League and in European competitions, inspiring players and fans alike. Beyond trophies and titles, the club is a hub for community engagement, with the Glasgow City Foundation Academy helping young girls grow as footballers and as people.

‘We are delighted that CSS have built upon their partnership from last season,’ says Laura Montgomery, Chief Executive of Glasgow City FC.
’The CSS logo is recognisable throughout Glasgow and Paul and his team share our passion for growing the game for women and girls in the city we call home.’

Shared Values: Community, Opportunity, and Growth

Our partnership with Glasgow City FC goes beyond sponsorship. For CSS, it’s about involvement and giving back, not simply visibility for our company.

This is about community. The sense of belonging Glasgow City provides, to players, to staff, to fans and especially to young girls with dreams, reminds us of what makes this city special. We’re proud to play our part in that story.

Sponsoring both the first team and Academy ensures that young players see local success in action, and understand that commitment, hard work and teamwork can take them far: on the pitch and in life.

Looking Ahead

As we continue this partnership, we’re excited to see the impact it will have on women’s football, youth development and the wider community across Glasgow and Scotland. CSS is proud to play a role in supporting opportunities, building confidence and inspiring young people to believe in themselves.

We hope to see you at a match soon and Paul invites you to come down for ‘a good cup of tea and a good pie’!
