CSS works closely with Police Scotland in fight against retail crime
We recently invited a Taskforce to discuss technologies and safety tactics to keep our retailers – and their customers – safe and protected from retail crime. We also attend the annual Scottish Grocers’ Federation event in Edinburgh to highlight increasing security threats against the retail industry and how we can help with our retail security systems.
Police Scotland have released the latest edition of their Retail Crime Taskforce retailer bulletin (PDF download). The police service is delighted that the Retail Crime Taskforce (RCTF) has received confirmation of funding from the Scottish Government for the next three years to tackle shoplifting and offences against retail workers.
In the recent report you can also read about Police Scotland’s Operation Dynos, a vital project that aims to prevent the exploitation of young people in organised retail crime, and how officers working in Edinburgh helped launch a ShopWatch Radio Scheme whereby retailers use radios to communicate with other retailers about potential shoplifters or threats.
