The clock is ticking, you have until 1 Feb 2022 to ensure your household complies with the new Scottish legislation for Fire and Smoke alarms.

Changes to Scottish fire safety regulations require all property owners to install compliant smoke, heat and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms in their homes, businesses and public access buildings by Feb 2022.

Your Responsibility

All homes in Scotland must meet the new regulations by 1 February 2021.

If a property is not up to standard, your local authority could use its statutory powers to make you carry out any work required.
