Family Business Investing in People
CSS is celebrating 35 years this year since he started the business with his brothers Jim and Pat. The business continues to invest in people with apprenticeships and staff development.
Adapting to COVID-19 and Expansion
The business was affected by the pandemic with some staff catching the virus and some with long COVID but thankfully now all are back at work. The business as a whole has expanded into 7 different businesses across the branch network throughout central Scotland. It’s been a good year trading, successfully delivering services to over 35,000 customers.
Investing in New Technology
With investments in new technologies the stores distribution service enables our engineers to have their vans well stocked with equipment and spare parts reducing call backs which reduces our carbon footprint.
Staff Retirements and New Arrivals
Over the last year there have been some retirements: Anne Neilson, Margaret Hazlett and Billy Dolan all with excess of 25 years service. Sadly we lost Andy Rosie due to long illness, a long-time colleague of Paul’s, who also had over 25 years service with the business. Some staff have had babies over the last 18 months so we wish them well with their new arrivals. The business has also invested in its apprentice scheme and Paul’s sons Callum, Declan, Lewis are now involved across the Group.
The Future
Connelly Group Holdings is in good shape with big plans and a strong order book thanks to our loyal customer base. We have overcome many adversities this past year but we are confident we will do well with fresh challenges such as developing our apprentices and our newly recruited adult trainees. We are strengthening our warehouse spare parts systems and continuing to improve our back office support personnel all to enhance our customer experience across the businesses. Finally, everyone at CSS is committed to delivering to you our valued customers.
