Burglary is Increasing – Is your Premises Protected?
Here at CSS we have been providing security solutions to our customers for almost forty years.
Over such a long space of time we have witnessed several economic downturns and recessions. In 2023 the economic outlook has seen a marked increase in criminal activity that we are witnessing across the group. With nearly 9,000 housebreaking offences recorded in Scotland this past year, it’s time to talk to CSS to help you protect your home from intruders.
Each day, our customers are reporting break-ins or attempted break ins to their premises and this aligns itself with our historic data that points to crime going up. Our enquiry rate for security solutions to prevent burglary is also going up. We have had recent incidences where customers have not been setting their alarm systems due to a change of personnel or they have simply forgotten to do so.

Insurance and Security Systems
If having a security system in your premises is an insurance requirement, it is really important to set it when you are leaving a commercial premises or going to bed in residential premises.
Setting the alarm system can be a strict stipulation of insurance coverage to mitigate the risk and loss to the underwriting companies offering insurance cover. Insurance claims can be rejected by underwriting companies who deem the burglary as your fault, not theirs.
If you need assistance in ensuring your staff, family, guarding company, etc. need additional training regarding preventing burglary, please get in touch with your local CSS branch – and ensure the security systems are being set correctly. We have on-call engineers to assist 24 hours a day to support our contracted client base.
