Connelly Group Holdings Acquires Fife-Based Scottish Fire & Security Limited
We are delighted to announce that Connelly Group Holdings (CGH) has successfully completed the acquisition of Security & Fire Systems (Scotland) Limited, trading as Scottish Fire & Security.
The Fife-based firm, led by Harry Meldrum for over 32 years, has become an integral part of our group as we continue to expand our presence across Scotland.
Founded in 1986, CGH has grown into a leading security provider under our Connelly Security Systems (CSS) brand, with an established presence throughout Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ayrshire, Stirling and the Highlands. Over the years, we have acquired around 30 security businesses, and the acquisition of Scottish Fire & Security is a significant milestone for us. It enhances our service capabilities, allowing us to provide even more comprehensive and responsive security solutions across Fife, Dundee and Edinburgh.
Scottish Fire & Security has long been recognised as a trusted provider of intruder alarms, CCTV and fire alarm services to both residential and commercial clients. The business is NSI Gold and BAFE accredited, a testament to Harry’s leadership and commitment to excellence over the years. Unfortunately, Harry has been undergoing treatment for a long-term illness, leading him to make the decision to entrust his family business to CGH. Harry is a close friend of Paul Connelly and we are honoured to carry on his legacy. Harry will continue to be involved in a part-time capacity as his treatment allows.
All staff from Scottish Fire & Security will be retained, ensuring continuity and maintaining the high standards the business is known for. Derek Kane, who has been with the company for 28 years, will continue to lead day-to-day operations. Additionally, we will be recruiting more resources to support our ongoing expansion and deliver even greater service to our clients.
This acquisition marks a special moment for CGH, not only because we are expanding our capabilities but also because it represents the trust and friendship between Harry and Paul. As we approach Connelly Group Holdings’ 40-year anniversary, we are proud to have completed this deal with a friend and are excited to continue the journey with Paul’s family, ensuring the future success of Connelly Group.
